Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said that the Ukrainian parliament will make the necessary decisions to hold re-elections in Mariupol and Krasnoarmiysk quickly.

“I can note that overall the elections were held without huge problems, much cleaner than during the rule of previous authorities. An unpleasant exception is the disruption of the elections in Mariupol and Krasnoarmiysk. The situation must be investigated and those guilty must be held accountable. Everybody must understand that there would be no elections under old ‘dark’ schemes any more. I urge the CEC [Central Elections Commission] to call elections in the cities. In turn the Verkhovna Rada will make the necessary decisions as soon as possible,” Groysman said on Facebook on Oct.25 night.

According to him, the local elections can be considered successful; however he pointed the low turnout of the voters.
