With 100 percent of ballots counted in the mayoral elections in the cities of Pavlohrad, Nikopol and Dniprodzerzhynsk, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the Central Election Commission said that second tour of elections of mayors will be held in these cities.

At the same time, the Central Election Commission hasn’t published the official results of the mayoral elections in Pavlohrad. According to preliminary data, the Opposition Bloc’s candidate Anatoliy Vershyna came first with 30 percent of the vote, followed by UKROP candidate Yevhen Terekhov with over 20 percent of the vote.

As reported, on Oct. 27, the Central Election Commission adopted a resolution stating that the CEC will not allocate additional funds to the second round of the mayoral election in Pavlohrad. The CEC explained its decision by the fact that there are 90,300 voters in Pavlohrad, however, the list compiled for the Oct. 25 election only had 89,800 voters.

Under the new electoral legislation, mayoral elections in cities where the number of voters exceeds 90,000 people are to be held in two rounds if none of the candidates receives more than 50 percent of the vote in the first round.

On Oct. 28, Pavlohrad Territorial Election Commission decided to hold the second round of the Pavlohrad mayoral election.

On Oct. 29, Kyiv Court of Appeals recognized the resolution of the Central Election Commission dated Oct. 27, 2015 on not holding elections in Pavlohrad as unlawful and obliged the CEC to revoke the resolution.

In the first round of the Nikopol mayoral elections, a candidate of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc “Solidarity,” Acting Mayor Andriy Fisak came first with 33.26 percent, followed by member of Nikopol City Council Dmytro Bychkov nominated by the UKROP party with 17.3 percent.

In Dniprodzerzhynsk, first deputy mayor (since March 2015), a candidate of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Andriy Bilousov came first with 33.13 percent, UKROP’s Yevhen Naida came second with 12.95 percent of the vote in the first round of the mayoral election.
