Opposition Bloc candidate Oleksandr Vilkul has won the first round of the Dnipropetrovsk mayoral election with 37.15 percent of the vote, according to a parallel vote count by OPORA civil network.

OPORA’s press service said that UKROP candidate Borys Filatov came second with 35 percent of the vote (118,553 votes).

Hromadska Syla (Civic Force) Zahid Krasnov came third with 12.04 percent of the vote.

“Despite none of the candidates receiving support of 50 percent+1 from the voters, it’s evident that the second round of the elections involving Vilkul and Filatov will be held on Nov. 15, when the electors will finally choose the mayor,” reads the report.

With 100 percent of votes cast in the Dnipropetrovsk City Council election counted by OPORA, Opposition Bloc secured 30.54 percent (99,600), UKROP – 25.02 percent (81,595).
