NGO Kyiv Initiative Group Alpbach (KIGA) due to the financial support of ERSTE Foundation, IB. Group IB. Interbilanz, IT Company SmartDocuments and SIEMENS Ukraine as well as to the partner support of the Insurance company KNIAZHA VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP is launching a scholarship program for the internally displaced people from the Donetsk, Luhansk regions as well as from the Autonomous Republic Crimea and City of Sevastopol to the European Forum Alpbach in Austria (see the Program: www.alpbach.org/en/ ) which is taking place from 19 August till 04 September 2015.

Eligibility
criteria
:


Students,
graduates, scholars, post-graduates, young specialists or activists aged 18 to
30;


Proficiency
in English at least B1 (intermediate level). Proficiency in German will be
considered as an advantage but is not a must;


Travel
passport which is valid min. 3 months after the trip to Austria and has two
empty pages for the visa (must be valid not more than 10 years);


Eligible
are only those persons, who haven’t participated at the EFA before;


Applicant
must reside at the territory of Donetsk, Luhansk regions, Autonomous
Republic Crimea and City of Sevastopol
or be internally displaced persons from the above mentioned regions to other
regions in Ukraine.

Motivation
letter in English (max. 1 page);


CV
in English with a photo (max. 2 pages);


Scanned
copy of the certificate or diploma from the educational institution, if already
graduated – scanned copy of the certificate or diploma from the educational
institution and scanned copy of the certificate from the place of employment. If
available- certificate about the status of the internally displaced person from
Donetsk, Luhansk regions, Autonomous
Republic Crimea and City of Sevastopol;


Two
essays
(Each essay has to be written
in English and Ukrainian, max. 2 pages each,
font
12, interval 1,5).

The topic of the first
essay
applicant chooses depending on the place of his/her residence:

a) Eastern Ukraine: ways to
resolve the conflict and to prevent the rise of a new one.

b) Your vision on the Crimea
issue – will the peninsula ever be Ukrainian again?

Second essay (Applicant chooses one of
the following topics):

a. Energy self-sufficiency –
how can each of us help to the country to solve the problem of energy
independence on the global level?

b. Implementation of the
closed circuit recycling – fantasy or forced reality for Ukraine?

c. Digitalization of the
modern society – trends and challenges of the present.

d. Ukraine as a figure at
the geopolitical chessboard of Europe and Russia.

e. Ukraine-European Union Association
Agreement – hidden possibilities/dangers for Ukraine

f. Healthcare reform in
Ukraine: what should be done for building a fully-fledged health care system in
Ukraine?

There are 11 scholarships
available. 9 of them for the participation at the Seminar week as well as the
EFA Symposia and two scholarships for the participation at the Technological
and Political Symposia

Each scholarship amounts
1000 to 1500 euro depending on the period of stay at the EFA.

Each scholarship includes:


Free
of charge visa at the Austrian Embassy
+ insurance;


Travel
costs;


Accommodation
costs (breakfast included);


Participation
fee + learning materials;

Euro per diem;


Receptions,
dinners, excursions expenses.
