Ten Ukrainians have made Forbes’ latest list of billionaires released on March 3, up from eight last year. Rinat Akhmetov, Ukraine’s richest man, slipped one position from last year to 47th on the 2013 ranking of the richest people on the planet. Still, the steel magnate and Shakhtar Donetsk football club owner whose net worth according to Forbes is $15.4 billion, down from $16 billion, stayed far ahead of his Ukrainian mates.

Topping the
annual Forbes list again was Mexican
Carlos Slim Helu and family, with a net worth of $73 billion, up from $69
billion in 2012. Notably, Americans Bill Gates ($64 billion) and Warren Buffet
($53.5) were ranked 2nd and 4th on the list, respectively.

In contrast
to the Forbes list, Bloomberg
Billionaires
assesses Akhmetov’s net worth at a higher $21.4 billion, ranking
him 32nd on its list of the world’s richest persons.
