Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko, who has been recalled by his faction of Samopomich from the ministerial post, has written a letter of resignation and submitted it to the Verkhovna Rada.

Pavlenko wrote on his Facebook page on Jan. 29 that the Samopomich fraction’s decision to recall him from the post “is in no way related to his work as the minister.”

“The faction has made its choice, which was cased solely by political reasons. I have to comply with the decision of the faction, which 14 months ago nominated me for the post of minister. I have written a letter of resignation, which I have submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The further fate of the letter will be decided by the coalition of parliamentary factions and the Ukrainian parliament,” Pavlenko said.
