The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has exempt the airports of the cities that are to host the Euro 2012 European Football Championship from entrance duty on the purchase of equipment for airfields and ground servicing.

A total of 250 of the 345 MPs registered in the hall voted for a bill amending the law on a single customs tariff on July 8.

Until September 1, 2012, the airports will not have to pay the duties on goods that are not produced in Ukraine or are produced but do not meet international technical requirements and requirements of international civil aviation organizations, which are imported to Ukraine for the construction and equipment of airports that are to service the Euro 2012 finals.

The law also stipulates that temporarily, until September 1, 2012, import operations for these goods will be exempt from VAT.

Taxpayers that use the abovementioned goods improperly or sell them on the customs territory of Ukraine will be fined.
