KYIV, July 18 – "Nobody has and nobody will approach the Tax Administration about the issue of subordinating the State Tax Administration to the Finance Ministry," Head of Tax Administration Mykola Azarov said.
Azarov spoke out on the issue that was raised last week by Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko who announced that he planned to significantly increase the Finance Ministry's regulatory role by subordinating the State Tax Administration, the State Customs Committee, the State Treasury, and security service to the ministry.
According to Yushchenko, the new superministry would control budget revenues and expenditures, customs and other procedures, as well as the procedures for cash implementation of the state budget.
According to Yushchenko, this reorganization would take place during the second half of the year.
