Donetsk International Airport in April 2013 increased passenger traffic by 6 percent compared to the same period in 2012, to 72,314 people.
According to the press service of the airport, 33 percent of passengers flew inside the country, and 67 percent flew abroad.
“Over the 30 days of April the airport saw 1,456 landings and takeoffs, which is 6 percent more than last year’s figures,” the press service said.
As reported, Donetsk airport in January-March 2013 increased passenger traffic by 7 percent compared to the same period in 2012, to 197,071 people.
Donetsk International Airport is located 10 kilometers from the city. It has a runway 4,000 meters long and 60 meters wide, with modern lighting. The airport can service all types of aircraft.
The new airport building was commissioned on May 14, 2012. The gross area of the airport building is 58,000 square meters. Its servicing capacity is around 3,100 passengers per hour. A new and an old terminal operate at the airport.
