KYIV, July 21 – The Finance Ministry warned that budget expenditures could dip in the second half of 2000 despite stable budget revenues in the first half of the year, Anatoly Maksiuta, the head of the ministry’s budget department, said Friday.
Based on budget revenue indicators for the first half of 2000, Maksiuta said that budget revenues could fall short of the expected year-end results by Hr 2.5-3 billion, even if local budgets experience a surplus.
“June’s trend currently provides a basis for forecasting that the budget’s overall fund will not be fulfilled,” Maksiuta said.
Under such conditions, Maksiuta said that the Finance Ministry would be forced to restrict budget expenditures as provided for by the 2000 state budget law.
Total budget revenues to state and local budgets for the first half of 2000 were Hr 19.429 billion, or 45.9 percent of the finances planned by the ministry for the entire year.
