Kharkiv's housing real estate market is seeing a trend of switching to making flat rent payments in hryvnias, rather than dollars, President of the Ukrainian Realtors' Guild Natalia Shkyleva has told Interfax-Ukraine.
She said that today about 84% of landlords in Kharkiv ask for payments in hryvnias, and this trend is continuing.
In addition, she pointed out that more flats are available for rent in Kharkiv and their rent rates are decreasing.
She said that on January 14, 2009, the average rent rate for a one-room flat in Kharkiv was UAH 1,393, which was 2.04% down on January 7, while the rent rate for a two-room flat was UAH 1,840 (a 1.55% decline) and that of a three-room flat was UAH 2,066 (a 1.2% decline).
