KYIV, Mar. 28 (Ukrainian News) – The Russian Aluminum concern, the majority shareholder in the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, wants to transfer the factory’s director Mykhailo Stoliar to one of its Moscow-based factories, a Russian Aluminum representative said Wednesday.
According to Russian Aluminum’s spokesman Oleh Paniuta, Russian Aluminum wants to transfer Stoliar to one of its plants, which requires a highly professional manager with vast experience in running alumina plants.
“The current director of the [Mykolaiv] factory is being sent to Moscow where he will engage in raising the effectiveness of the operations of the Russian Aluminum group,” Paniuta said.
The election of a new MAP director will be considered at a shareholder’s meeting on April 5.Russian Aluminum has not disclosed the names of the candidates it is considering for the post.
Deputy chairman of the State Property Fund Mykhailo Chechetov told Ukrainian News that the State Property Fund would not oppose changes within MAP’s leadership because it was interested in the plant’s stable operation and trusts Russian Aluminum’s judgment.
Stoliar was appointed director of the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant in December 2000. Until then, he served as the plant’s technical director. Stoliar has been at the plant for 10 years.
