You're reading: Statistics: Ukraine boosts meat production in five months, milk and egg output on decline

Milk production in Ukraine in January-May 2016 decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the same period in 2015, to 4.005 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service reported on June 10.

Egg production decreased by 14.7 percent, to 6.403 billion.

Meat production (in live weight) was 1.334 million tonnes, which was 1.4 percent up year-over-year.

The data does not cover the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol and the war-torn zone in eastern Ukraine.

Ukraine in 2015 reduced meat production by 19.2 percent, to 3.277 million tonnes, milk output fell by 4 percent, to 10.682 million tonnes, eggs output decreased by 14.3 percent, to 16.78 billion.
