Ukraine could climb 15 positions in the World Bank's Doing Business 2017, First Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Development and Trade Minister Stepan Kubiv.

“I think that the improvement will be up to 15 positions,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

He said that mainly Ukraine’s pace in the rating depends on the progress in adopting some bills.

As reported, the government asks the Verkhovna Rada to discuss bill No. 3132 on improving efficiency of bankruptcy procedures. This would improve Ukraine’s positions in Doing Business by eight points.

According to the action plan for 2016, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers by the end of this year intended to realize the required legislative initiatives that would allow Ukraine to improve its position in Doing Business and enter top 50 best countries in 2017 and top 20 in 2018.

Ukraine in 2015 climbed from 87th from 83rd in Doing Business 2016.
