The shareholders of Ukrgasbank (Kyiv) at a meeting on May 29 decided to reorganize the bank from an open joint-stock company as a public joint-stock company, the bank has told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to a bank’s representative, the decision was made taking into account the requirements of the law on joint-stock companies.
Ukrgasbank was founded in 1993. Among its largest stockholders by January 1, 2009 were Financial and Investment Alliance Ltd. with 33.0063% and Ukrgazinvest Plus Ltd. with 19.0005%.
In March 2009, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced a curator at Ukrgasbank.
The bank ranked 17th among the 182 operating banks in Ukraine in terms of overall assets, estimated at UAH 12.496 billion, as of April 1, 2009, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
