YEREVAN - The European Union remains an important partner for Armenia, Foreign Minister Edvard Albanian said on Wednesday answering questions from members of parliament.

“Armenia is ready to continue all-round cooperation with the EU on all formats, in all spheres and in all possible directions that do not contradict our obligations in other integration processes. The EU, like before, remains an important partner for us,” he said.

Armenia will continue working with the new EU leadership to form a new legal groundwork for relations, he said.

“At the beginning of November the Armenian economy minister will discuss the possibilities and prospects of cooperation in trade and economy. A session of the committee for trade, a meeting of senior officials of the Eastern Partnership are due in the second half of November and a session of the Armenia-EU Cooperation Council at the ministerial level – in December. All these formats will permit us to continue the dialogue with the EU,” the Armenian foreign minister said.
