Tallinn, April 23 (Interfax) - Participants in NATO's ministerial meeting in Tallinn have focused their attention on drafting NATO's new strategy, and on NATO reform and partnership, an Estonian Foreign Ministry spokesman told Interfax.

"The ministers said that the strategy must realistically reflect the new challenges facing NATO, such as cyber-defense and relations with partners, first of all Russia," he said.

"But collective defense must remain the nucleus of the strategy," Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said at the meeting.

The ministers positively assessed the working group’s efforts to draft the strategy, the Estonian Foreign Ministry said.

On Friday the discussion will center on NATO’s relations with Russia. Also, talks will be held between the foreign ministers of the countries participating in the international operation in Afghanistan.
