Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's youngest son Nikolai will study at a school in the town of Ostroshytsky Gorodok outside Minsk.

"President Alexander Lukashenko is expected to accompany his son Nikolai to the secondary school in the town of Ostroshytsky Gorodok on Thursday morning for a ceremony marking the start of the school year. He will address the school students, and then a dramatized performance will be shown," the presidential press service reported.

According to the program of the ceremony, a cake will be presented to the first graders on behalf of the Minsk region workers, the press service said.

The school, located in the farmers’ town of Ostroshytsky Gorodok, was founded in 1863. In 1875, as a public school, it trained 40 students. In 1917 it got the status of a regional primary school and in 1934 became a school with a seven-year tuition for rural children. A secondary school was founded on its basis in 1941. The school moved to a modern three-storied building in 1982. The building has been upgraded by now following a modernization project estimated at 14 billion Belarusian rubles.

The school has 24 classes in which 407 children study. Forty-three first graders joined the school this year.
