The European economy will lose 50 billion euros next year due to sanctions against Russia, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with several Russian TV channels on Dec. 10.
“According to our economists’ calculations, the European economy has lost 40 billion rubles from rescinding contracts with Russia and other restrictive measures this year, and it will lose 50 billion euros next year,” he said.
“In other words, sanctions are not beneficial for anyone, which I’ve talked about on numerous occasions. No one needs them, and they traditionally go nowhere,” Medvedev added.
