MOSCOW - Russian president Vladimir Putin has noted with satisfaction that the import-substitution program for the national defense industry will cost less than expected.
“The good thing is that deadlines are quite acceptable, and the financial costs are not as high as they appeared initially. Overall, everything is absolutely acceptable and doable in terms of the parameters,” Putin told a commission in charge of military-technical cooperation on Nov. 5.
With regard to import-substitution in the defense industry, alternative relations are being established in the sphere of manufacturing and technological cooperation, Putin said. “Together we have approved – and I want to thank the colleagues who did the preliminary work, and did it thoroughly – approved the plans for this work with financial security,” the president said.
