Moscow - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent the leaders of the CIS countries, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and citizens of Georgia congratulations on the 68th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Russian presidential press service has reported.

“Vladimir Putin emphasized that the leaders of the countries have a common duty to keep the memory of the heroes who fell while fighting for freedom and independence, and surround the surviving veterans with care and attention,” the Kremlin press service has reported.

The president reiterated that the holy memory of May 1945 and the heroic pages of common history will continue uniting our countries and will become a solid foundation for further development of cooperation.

In closing, Putin gave Great Patriotic War veterans his warmest wishes and wished them a long life, health, and wellbeing, the Kremlin reported.
