Russian state energy giant Gazprom has taken over Kyrgyzstan's KyrgyzGaz natural-gas corporation. Gazprom chief Aleksei Miller made the announcement to journalists after signing an agreement with the Kyrgyz government in Bishkek on April 10.

Gazprom chief Aleksei Miller says, all debts of the Kyrgyz state company will become Gazprom's responsibility, the prices for gas for consumers in Kyrgyzstan will be decreased, and all projects and programs, including social ones, related to the company will be outlined and implemented with the Kyrgyz government's involvement.
