Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov has said that MEPs are ready to extend sanctions against Russia until it returns Crimea to Ukraine.

Chubarov said this based on the results of special hearings held in the European Parliament in Brussels on March 24.

“I’m personally happy with the results of the hearings: nobody is going to forgive Russia for Crimea, sanctions will continue until Russian returns Crimea,” Chubarov said on Facebook.

According to him, both he and the Ukrainian Ambassador to the EU Kostiantyn Yeliseyev had answered many questions from the MEPs after the hearings.

According to Chubarov, Russian diplomats were also present at the hearings.

As reported, on March 23, Chubarov went to Brussels to discuss Crimean issues with members of the European Parliament Security and Defense Committee.
