Moldovan police say six musicians were killed and 11 others injured when a bus traveling from a funeral slammed into a truck — the country’s worst road accident in two years.
Police spokesman Sergiu Armasu said that the accident happened Friday just south of the capital Chisinau.
The passengers — 16 musicians and one conductor — had been performing at the funeral.
Chisinau Hospital spokesman Petru Crave said the injured — including a 12-year-old — were in a serious condition.
Last year, 20 people died in road accidents in Moldova, a former Soviet republic of 4.1 million.
