Vladimir Putin has thrown his weight behind a plan to create a patriotic Russian restaurant chain to rival foreign fast food joints such as McDonald's. The Russian president ordered Arkady Dvorkovich, a deputy prime minister, to "examine and support" the proposal as part of efforts to reduce reliance on imported brands, Kommersant reported.
