The US Congress has addressed the President of Russia with a request to lift a freeze on the adoption of Russian children by American families. The lawmakers asked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to render assistance in finding a solution to this issue. Conscious of the reasons for tightened adoptions, they expressed themselves ready to amend the mechanisms of monitoring the treatment of Russian children adopted by American citizens.
