The Russian National Guard took control over the issue of protection of the so-called energy bridge to the Russian-occupied Crimea. It is also planned to use their expertise on a permanent basis to protect the yet-to-be-completed transport bridge over the Kerch strait, according to the National Guard's deputy chief Lieutenant-General Oleg Borukaev, RIA Novosti reports.
“An interdepartmental working group based on the federal bodies of executive power has been set up. Risk assessment is underway, to identify possible hazards that may emerge along the transport corridor,” he said.
