You're reading: U.S. Department of State: High-ranking U.S. diplomat heads to Moscow

Washington, January 13 (Interfax) - U.S. Assistant Secretary of State William Burns will visit Moscow on Jan. 13-14 for talks on Russian-U.S. relations.

The main issue addressed in the talks will be the work of the bilateral presidential commission, Burns’ aide Filip Crowley told a briefing in Washington on Jan. 11.

The visit will also address issues relating to arms control, the Iran nuclear issue, North Korea, and economic cooperation, Crowley said.

According to Crowley, Burns will arrive in Madrid for talks with the EU administration on Jan. 15.
