You're reading: Direct flights between Kyiv, Bratislava could begin by summer, says official

First Deputy Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Shulmeister has expressed hope that direct flights between Kyiv and Bratislava, Slovakia, will begin in summer 2015.

“I hope that in the summer we’ll be able to launch direct flights with Bratislava,” he told reporters in Kyiv on Feb. 6, after the signing of two Ukrainian-Slovakian agreements.

Shulmeister and Foreign Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak signed an agreement between the governments of the two countries on amending and expanding the agreement on railway traffic.

Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Viktor Nazarenko and Lajcak signed a protocol between the governments of the two countries on amending and expanding the agreement on border checkpoints.
