Ukrainian trains can compete on the domestic and international markets, offering lower prices, the head of the supervisory council of Kriukov Car Building Works (KCBW), Volodymyr Prykhodko, has told reporters.

“There are a lot of competitors now. Unprecedented competitors are
going to us from Europe. Now everybody wants to manufacture electric
trains, even the Serbs, although previously they were not engaged in
their production. The major European competitors are Bombardier and
Siemens. They have enormous resources. In the east the competitors are
China, Korea, Japan, but they cannot make the same interesting price
offer as we do,” he said.

Prykhodko said that KCBW can offer lower prices, in particular, due to lower costs.

“We try to set prices to win the market. Those who want to conquer the market will never offer high prices,” he said.

Prykhodko also said that KCBW on June 23 introduced its proposals for
creating rolling stock for the City Train and the Air Express to Kyiv
Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
