You're reading: Service of Emergency Situations: UN on way to helps refugees from Crimea and ATO zone

UN departments are working on possible ways to help and support citizens that have had to move from the temporary occupied territory and anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone.

According to the press service of the State Service of Emergency
Situations of Ukraine, this issue was discussed at the meeting of the
representatives of Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for
Human Rights, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian
Affairs (UNOCHA) and State Service of Emergency Situations in Kharkiv.

Representative of UNOCHA Marcel Vassen said that together with the
colleagues from Service of Emergency Situations they had discussed
practical issues of helping refugees from Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
UN is ready to cooperate with all the non-governmental and public
organizations to reach this goal.

In turn, Deputy Head of the Service of Emergency Situations Vasyl
Stoyetsky said that offices of the service are cooperating with regional
social organizations to fully support citizens in need of assistance,
quickly resolve all the issues and coordinate work.

Parties also discussed the necessity of inventory and logistics
management in the process of finding places to live for the refugees.

According to the statement, UN representatives are working in Kharkiv
to plan, organize cooperation, and coordinate actions with all the
interested parties. The mission will also work in such a way in other
Ukrainian regions.
