Ukraine intends to introduce a system of payment for parking vehicles using mobile phones, which will allow to avoid budgetary costs for installing parking meters and increase annual revenues to local budgets from fees for parking by six times - to almost Hr 500 million.
According to the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction,
Housing and Utilities Services, the corresponding changes to the rules
of parking vehicles developed by the authority regarding the
introduction of this method of payment were approved by the cabinet at a
meeting on June 25.
According to preliminary calculations, the introduction of this
method of payment will allow to annually replenish local budgets with
nearly Hr 500 million from the collection of fees for parking vehicles,
whereas now these revenues amount to Hr 85 million, reads the report.
According to the ministry experts, these resources could be used for
the development of road transport infrastructure in settlements.
The ministry noted that the introduction of payment for parking via
mobile phones or other portable devices does not require raising
budgetary funds.
