You're reading: Kremlin chief of staff praises organization of Euro-2012 in Ukraine

The Kremlin chief of staff Sergei Ivanov congratulated Ukraine on the excellent organization of the Euro-2012 football championship in talks with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

“I congratulate you on the brilliant organization of the European football championship,” Ivanov said, according to the Ukrainian Cabinet’s Secretariat.

Ivanov also highly commended the affable atmosphere that filled Ukraine’s stadiums and streets during the championship, as well as the fans’ decent conduct during the finals in Kyiv.

“No one was opposed to anyone. All supported fine play, fine football,” Ivanov said.
