About Hr 13.6 billion was spent on Kharkiv's preparations for Euro 2012 in the period from 2008 to 2012, Deputy Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yuriy Sapronov has said.

“About Hr 13.6 billion was invested in preparations for Euro 2012 in
the period from 2008 to 2012,” he said at a press conference on July 1.

He noted that Hr 3.432 billion had been allocated from the state
budget, Hr 1.195 billion from local budgets (including Hr 923 million
from the budget of Kharkiv and Hr 272 million from the budget of
Kharkiv region), and Hr 9.29 billion had been obtained from other
sources, including from Pivdenna Railways (Hr 5.2 billion), Ukravtodor
(Hr 968 million) and DCH Group (Hr 2.393 billion).

Sapronov failed to name the amount of funds spent by foreign fans in
Kharkiv, but suggested that on average each fan who attended the matches
spent around EUR 100 on food and souvenirs per day.

He said that three Euro 2012 group matches played at the Metalist
stadium in Kharkiv had been attended by 110,646 people, including more
than 40,000 from the Netherlands, more than 10,000 from Germany, about
8,000 from Russia and about 5,000 from Denmark.

The Metalist stadium can seat up to 38,633 fans.
