Head of Government Relations and Public Services at UEFA Events SA Andreas Schaer has congratulated Ukrzaliznytsia Director General Volodymyr Kozak on the successful holding of the European football championship and thanked a team of Ukrainian railway officers for their cooperation during the preparations for and staging of the tournament.
“As for today, most of the events of the final tournament of UEFA Euro 2012 – the biggest sports event in history on the territory of Ukraine, are over. Based on the results of the final tournament and the feedback of the visitors, we can consider the event a very successful one,” the UEFA representative said in a letter to Kozak, which was posted on Ukrzaliznytsia’s Web site.
Schaer said that “part of this great success was without doubt the contribution of the Ukrainian Railways efforts to provide transport services for the event properly and efficiently.”
He also wished Ukrainian railway officers further success in their endeavors for Ukraine.
Euro 2012 was held in eight cities in Ukraine and Poland from June 8 to July 1.
