Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has decorated Ukraine national football team coach Oleh Blokhin and President of the Football Federation of Ukraine and UEFA Executive Committee member Hryhoriy Surkis with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, IV degree.
The head of state signed a respective decree on Thursday, the presidential press service reported.
A total of 127 people received awards in accordance with the decree “for making significant personal contributions to preparing for and holding in Ukraine the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, successfully implementing infrastructure projects, maintaining law enforcement and public safety during the tournament, raising the international prestige of the Ukrainian state, and for displaying a high level of professionalism.”
Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov and his deputy, Anatoliy Holubchenko, Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianchenko, and MP Serhiy Osyka, who was elected on the BYT lists, but is currently an independent deputy, received the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, V degree.
Ukraine captain Andriy Shevchenko, Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Dobkin, Vice-Premier and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov, as well as the head of the national agency on preparing for and holding Euro 2012 finals and implementing infrastructure projects, Volodymyr Kovalevsky, were decorated with the Order of Merit, I degree.
