Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov, the nation's richest man, claims that he asked his longtime ally, former President Viktor Yanukovych, to resign on Feb. 22. Akhmetov said he hasn't talked to Yanukovych or his two sons since then, but congratulated the former president's wife on International Women's Day on March 8.
