You're reading: Naftogaz official says oil checks violated at Ukrtatnafta, plant refutes allegation

Checks on technological oil at PJSC Ukrtransnafta, stored at PJSC Ukrtatnafta (Kremenchuk oil refinery), were violated by the plant, Naftogaz Ukrainy Executive Director Andriy Pasishnyk has written on his Facebook page.

He said that problems arose when inspectors attempted to enter the Kremenchuk oil refinery. The commission was held at the entrance to the plant from 08.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., apparently due to a lack of uniforms, helmets and gas masks.

After being admitted, the inspectors were banned from using their own means for measuring and sampling, and were “provided instead with empty beer bottles with a narrow neck, in which it is physically impossible to take the heavy product.”

At the same time, dampers on almost all containers on the day of checks were opened, which was fixed by the inspectors.

“This might indicate that certain operations were done with the oil during the non-admission of the commission members. The dampers were not sealed,” Pasishnyk said.

Ukrtatnafta, in turn, believes that the audit took place without comment from the inspectors.

The company said the delay in admission was due to test procedures being coordinated.
