Brussels - Vice President of the European Commission for Energy Gunther Oettinger has said that the next meeting of the European Union, Russia and Ukraine on the gas issue will be held in Brussels on Oct. 21.

Oettinger said that he would visit Kyiv on Oct. 18-19 to lay the groundwork for these talks.

Oettinger also said that he and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak discussed the upcoming meeting during their recent telephone conversation.

The heads of Russian gas giant Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine will arrive in Brussels accompanied by their delegations, he said.
