The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, which is currently considering claims filed by Naftogaz Ukrainy and Russia's Gazprom against each other, has asked the two companies to provide information in order to establish an interim price of Russian gas for Ukraine, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan said.

“As far as I know, a request has been sent to Gazprom, so that they urgently provide materials with their proposals concerning an interim solution,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday, Oct. 9.

The interim solution to set the gas price could be found within one month, he added.

“The Arbitration Institute has started asking the sides certain questions in that direction… It proceeds from the fact that this is a critical situation, as the winter is coming, and each of the sides may incur expenses. Therefore, it is looking for a certain, interim solution,” the minister said.
