You're reading: A Michael Moore extravaganza, and everyone’s favorite German freaks

Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" dissects the U.S. gun culture for Kyiv audiences, and without overdubbing; witty German techno stars hit Olympic Stadium; Vlada Ralko opens a new exhibit of her ambiguous paintings

painter’s work can be eerie and disturbing, with its intimations of loneliness and sexualized violence lurking secretly behind the facade of seemingly normal human relationships. Gee, count us in!

This event will also feature a fashion show: Liu Jo, the Italian clothes-maker, will send models up and down a runway – some will be famous personalities, but their names are being kept secret.

MOVIE PREMIERE

“Bowling for Columbine”

(In English with Russian subtitles).

www.yahoo.movies.com

Michael Moore, still the toast of the anti-Bush set after the success of “Fahrenheit 9-11,” hits Kyiv with this older piece of entertaining agit-prop, this time taking on the U.S. gun culture that (or so Moore says) led to the ghastly Columbine High School mass murder in 2004. Like everything Moore does, you’ll like it if you agree with him; if you don’t, you probably won’t. At least one Western movie will play in Kyiv without being overdubbed, though.

Zhovten (26 Konstyantynivska, 201-0101).

Tickets Hr 10 to Hr 25. Please call for show times.
