Deck the halls with the best festive adornments offered in Kyiv
The winter holiday season can be an exciting time, filled with anticipation and expectations for the months to come. To ensure the festive mood never leaves us, we decorate our homes and offices to celebrate the arrival of Christmas and the New Year. Feeling it was about time to add some holiday atmosphere to my own place, I hurried to shop for Christmas decor.
Design center Scorpio knows how to decorate your home for a memorable Christmas party or just to create a festive atmosphere. A very trendy and stylish shop, Scorpio offers all kinds of absolutely stunning and posh decorations. Scorpio sells a range of Santas, decorations for the Christmas trees, candles and candlesticks, vases, masks, toys, hand-made dolls, angels and many others. Their exclusive Christmas trees are amazing and so are their collections of exclusive ornaments and classy decorations made from silver, bronze, glass or stone. Still, I found the store generally too overpriced and their Christmas decor too kitschy, so I moved on.
Tendens is one of the biggest keepsake and gift supermarkets in the city, selling a great variety of seasonal presents and decorations. They offer a variety of garlands, Christmas trees, stockings, Santas, stars, snowflakes, candles, snowmen, etc. Because the forthcoming year would be the year of the mouse (rat) according to the Chinese calendar, they carry a funny collection of little mice statuettes. Tendens not only provides decor items but its staff is also ready to assist you in the realization of your ideas and decorating projects. Another thing I found very convenient about Tendens is that I was able learn about its entire assortment prior to going there – from its website – and even downloaded their latest catalogue. Still, this shop specializes in gifts rather than ornaments. So keep in mind, if you come in with your child, you might not be able to leave without buying one of its cute toys.
If you take Christmas decorations really seriously, and even collect angels, Santas, stars or snowmen, then you should definitely visit one of the building material hypermarkets of the Epicenter chain. Epicenter’s huge building houses a whole row of stalls dedicated to New Year keepsakes and Christmas decorations. They sell all kinds of seasonal knick-knackery, whether it be for your apartment, office, restaurant or the open air. It can provide you with Christmas trees of all sorts and sizes, candles, garlands, stars, toys, candlesticks – everything to add a festive look to your home without spending a lot of time or money. However, if you don’t have a clear idea of exactly what you’re looking for, and require advice from a shop assistant, keep in mind that Epicenter mainly sells building materials, and their shop assistants can’t really help you concerning the festive embellishment of your house.
Seta Decor, located in the Globus shopping center, has an impressive selection of different cute Christmas and New Year decorations for your home. There are various candles, small toys, miniature dolls, Christmas angels, and much more. But the shop is quite small, and its prices are that of a fashionable boutique. Besides, Globus is a crowed place, and especially during the pre-holiday weeks it is hard shopping at Seta Decor. I found all the people jostling about quite annoying, and I wasn’t even able to properly look over the items I considered buying.
Decor-studio Anturazh Manufactura as I found out, has been in business for seven years,
but not many people know about it. Its owners don’t bother with any flashy promotion or advertising, obviously because they know that the clients will find them anyway. Anturazh Manufactura is the kind of place that, upon finding, you’ll keep coming back again and again. Though not very big in size, the shop’s fully stocked with all kinds of magnificent items, having little in common with what we usually call “interior decoration.” Every decor item is special, carrying its own character, expression and secret ideological sense. At Anturazh Manufactura you won’t find any glamorous knick-knackery, as the shops organizers don’t select items for their shop based on the prestige of certain brands, but rather give preference to goods which “cling” to you at a glance.
The goods are sorted out very precisely: several times a year the store’s buyer visits European expositions on behalf of the art director, looks through Spanish and French catalogues of decor items and decides what should be delivered to the shop in Ukraine. As a result, at Anturazh Manufactura you’ll find a stunning variety of candlesticks, statuettes on springs, vases, supports, props, mirrors, and pictures. Full of unusual, functional and beautiful things matched with quite reasonable prices, Anturazh Manufactura is clearly the ultimate choice to shop for holiday decor.
