FOLK FESTIVAL/Folklorama Festival. Ethnic festival Folklorama will take place at Pyrohovo Museum on June 29 and 30. Representatives of ethnic minorities living in Ukraine – Tatars, Russians, Koreans, Jews, Lithuanians, Germans, Czechs, Gypsies, Armenians and Afghans – will demonstrate their national costumes, offer ethnic cuisine and sing-alongs. CLUBS/Comedy competition at Hollywood. KVN (translated as the Merry and Witty Club) is a popular student comedy competition that started in the Soviet Union in the 1960s. In KVN, teams compete for the best jokes. 5 p.m. Tickets Hr 20.

JAZZ/Marek Striszowski (Poland). Polish pianist, composer, jazz vocalist and saxophonist Marek Striszowski presents his new music project “Cross Way.” The program of jazz-rock improvisations is based on the verses of famous Polish poet Jan Twardowski. BARS/Pub Crawl. Beer drinkers of Kyiv will unite for this all-day pub scramble. Crawlers will meet at the Wall at 2 p.m. and hit Eric’s Bierstube, O’Brien’s Irish Pub, 111 and finally Time Out, where there will be an awards ceremony. Get your entry card from any of the participating restaurants. Starts at 2 p.m. at The Wall.

Kyiv Summer Evenings International Music Festival features “Jazz Evening,” a concert in memory of Volodymyr Symonenko, a Ukrainian dissident composer. Tatar virtuoso guitarist Enver Izmailov, Trio Nico Layeff, Petr Nazarov’s Quartet (Russia), and Ukrainian bands Unity with Gayatana, Night Groove with Yulia Roma and the Jankoi Brothers perform. Central Park of Culture and Rest in Pechersk (near Maryinsky Palace). 7 p.m. Admission is free.

CLUBS/Raskrutka (Spin Off) party at the Garage. DJ group Ritm Snov (Dreams’ Rhythm) opens a series of parties at Kyiv’s newest nightclub Garage. Organizers promise to liven up the city’s nightlife with a repertoire of alternative music. Famous local DJ Sokoloff will also make an appearance.
