Global Restaurant Group-Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), one of three Ukrainian franchise partners of Yum! Restaurants International Russia&CIS, plans to open a KFC fast food restaurant at 1, Polzunov Street in the Solomiansky district of Kyiv, reads a declaration of intent published by Global Restaurant Group-Ukraine in the Khreschatyk newspaper on Tuesday.
According to the document, it is planned to create a summer terrace and a guest parking area.
According to the publication, a total of 42 employees are required to
run the KFC restaurant. The area of a land plot where the restaurant
will be located is 0.2885 hectares.
According to a statement on the environmental consequences of
restaurant operation published by Global Restaurant Group-Ukraine in the
Khreschatyk newspaper on February 27, 2013, the company planned to open
a KFC fast food restaurant in the Novus shopping mall being built at
intersection of Chernovohvardiyska and Popudrenko streets in the
Desniansky district of Kyiv. The area of the restaurant hall will be 280
square meters and the area of the summer terrace – 150 square meters.
The terms for the opening of the restaurant were not disclosed.
Global Restaurant Group-Ukraine was established in August 2012. The
owners of the company are Berilliom Investments Limited (Cyprus) and
Global Restaurant Group Ltc (Cayman Islands).
Ukrainian Food Company LLC (Kyiv), one of the three Ukrainian
franchise partners of Yum! Restaurants International Russia&CIS,
plans in the next five years to open at least 10 KFC fast food
restaurants in Kyiv and the regions. The first restaurant was opened in
the Ocean Plaza shopping mall in Kyiv in December 2012.
Technology and Innovation Director at Yum! Restaurants International
Russia&CIS Alexander Gargaty then said that agreements have been
signed on the opening of KFC restaurants in Ukraine with another two
partners – Global Restaurant Group-Ukraine and Happik (the Mafia
restaurant chain). He did not disclose the number of restaurants they
plan to open.
The average investment in the opening of one KFC restaurant is $700,000.
KFC restaurants offers fried chicken, salads, soft beverages and beer.
Yum! Brands Inc., based in Louisville (Kentucky, the United States),
is one of the largest restaurant chains in the world. The holding
incorporates KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell chains. The holding’s revenues
in 2011 came to over $12 billion.
Yum! Brands owns around 38,000 restaurants all over the world, among
which 21% are its own outlets and 79% are operating under franchise.
