SPECIAL EVENT
Miss Sun City Slavutich 2004.

See a typical line-up of young, none-too-shy bikini-clad contestants vie for the title of Miss Sun City Slavutich. This here’s the competition final, so one of the 30 remaining bodies will certainly take all. Whoever that ends up being, she should consider herself lucky if no one gets the bright idea of throwing her in the pool afterwards to celebrate.
Sun City Slavutich (Venetian Beach, Hydropark, 451-6585). 10 p.m. Please call for ticket information, or 237-7919 to reserve a VIP table.

Kontraktova Ploshcha (Podil). 6 p.m.

SOCCER
England vs. Ukraine.

This international friendly between top world power England and our boys (including AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko) should prove interesting in the run-up to qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Ukraine play an altogether too defensive style of play, which cost them a birth in the recent 2004 European championships and which, when pitted against the likes of Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and co., should prove to Ukrainian soccer fans and the country’s soccer braintrust that we need a new coach – and not a Ukrainian, either. After all, it worked for Greece and Portugal.
