For hockey fans, it's nothing short of amazing that native Kyivan Ruslan Fedotenko will bring the hallowed chalice to town (July 19)... some decent DJ action thanks to Lee-Cabrera at Opium Beach Club (July 20) ... check out the new Russian film "Nochnoy Dozor" (The Night Patrol) for a few good chills
on’t understand Russian well enough to pick out more than “Da” or “Pozhalusta.” Novice director Timur Bekmambetov’s freaky thriller is set in modern-day Moscow and it’s cool for many reasons, not least of which are the opening scenes involving armor-clad soldiers who never die, and the film’s main character, a local Zhek worker, who signs a pact with a freaky witch to kill his son, and drinks blood to help him see ghosts. Makes you want to see it, eh?
Various cinemas. See page 13 for showtimes.

CLUB PARTY
Lee/Cabrera.

New York deejay duo Lee/Cabrera, who will visit Opium Beach Club this weekend, are all about Latin house. The pair debuted in 2001 with a track called “Reach,” which became an instant club hit (don’t they all?). Their release “Shake It” became an even bigger hit and charted in around 30 countries; it was also nominated for “Track of the Year 2003.” Shake it, as they say.

ALTERNATIVE MUSIC
Kryhitka Tsahes.

Although named after a nasty, ugly character from an E. T. A. Hoffman tale, the band Kryhitka Tsahes is actually melodic, romantic and poetic – thanks mostly to its frontwoman Sasha Koltsova, who isn’t nasty or ugly at all. She’s actually kind of comely. Kryhitka Tsahes rarely gives concerts, so make sure you don’t miss this one.
Store 205 (8 Kovpaka, Ukraina warehouse, 269-3249). 8 p.m. Tickets Hr 15.
