President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has liquidated the Constitutional Assembly under relative decree No. 901/2014, the president's website reported.
“[I order] to liquidate a Constitutional Assembly taking into account a decision of the Coordination Bureau of the Constitutional Assembly as of July 15, 2014 No. 22 regarding stopping of its work under Paragraph 28, Part 1 of the Article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine,” reads a president’s decree.
Besides, five president’s decrees issued in 2012-2013 regarding establishment of the aforementioned assembly are recognized invalid.
The law comes into effect on the day it was published.
As reported, on May 17, 2012 the then President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych signed an order to set up the Constitutional Assembly.
