The blocking of truck traffic to and from Crimea across the border with the Kherson region is a rally of the public activists of Crimean Tatar people, and Ukrainian law enforces were instructed to provide order and admit no provocations during this rally, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko reported.

“A blockade is a rally of the public activists of Crimean Tatar people, and state services – Ukrainian border guards and Interior Ministry – were instructed to provide order and admit no provocations to happen when holding rallies,” he said during a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at Yavoriv range in Lviv being when being asked by Interfax-Ukraine reporter.

According to the president, this event is aimed at restoration of state sovereignty of Crimea as soon as possible.

However, Poroshenko stressed that the rally on the administrative border with Crimea and an intention of the activists to block the border with unrecognized Moldovan Transdniestrian Republic are two different events since in case with Crimea we talk about the territory of Ukraine, which was occupied by Russian soldiers in 2014.
