Poroshenko says dissolution of local councils is join prerogative of president, Constitutional Court, Rada

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the bill of decentralization-related amendments to the Constitution he brought before the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine doesn't include the enhancement of the presidential branch of power by being able to dissolve local councils.

“Actually, it clearly states that this is a joint prerogative of the Head of State, Constitutional Court and Ukrainian parliament,” he said in the Verkhovna Rada on July 16.
