Romania will support granting Ukraine a visa-free regime at the Eastern Partnership summit in May of this year, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.

“We have agreed that Romania will support providing the visa-free regime during the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga in May of this year,” Poroshenko said at a press conference after talks with his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis in Kyiv on March 17.

He also thanked Iohannis for a number of initiatives in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

“Many citizens of our country are waiting for the resumption of international flights between Kyiv and Bucharest. We can expect that this issue will be resolved soon,” Poroshenko said.
